Steps:
1.Select one of these as a job:

?Beginner

?Warrior
.Fighter->Crusader->Hero
.Page->Knight->Paladin

.Wizard (Fire/Poison)->Mage->Arch Mage
.Wizard (Ice/Lightning)->Mage->Arch Mage

Pros

   * Flashy Skills mainly in the Ranger/Sniper stage.
   * Has the highest accuracy in the game
   * Gets soul arrow in 2nd job, allowing space saving for more pots.
   * Handles normal mobs pretty well (Puppet, hawk, Blizzard for Snipers)
   * Good mobbing skills.
   * Far ranged.
   * Confirmed as the most effective 4th job.
   * Can hit as high as warrior with double shot very early on.
   * Highest armor of all ranged classes.
Cons

   * Low health, getting 2-hit-killed by monsters at high levels
   * Confirmed as the least popular of all the classes
   * Low damage largely due to weak damage formula
   * Very unstable damage until mastery in 2nd job
   * Elemental advantage is screwed at higher levels, not much fire weak mobs to train on
   * Biased view towards archers from other classes, other classes will be chosen over bowmen any time at anywhere at lower levels
   * Gets ksed easily until 2nd job

Steps:
1.Stay at Maple Island until you are level 9/10 (just complete the quests). Make sure you have at least 25 dex.

2.Do whatever you need to, then take the ship to Lith Harbor. Walk over to Henseys Hunting Ground I. Kill all the snails until you level up to 10.

3.Go to the Mushroom Park which is in Heneneys.Talk to Athena. She will give you the job.

After you've answered these questions, think... Do you want your life to be ruined because of Maple Story? How so? There can be people that have a uncontrollable lust to play everyday. People always competing to be the top. That could ruin your life for good. You could be too distracted to the desire to play. Some people could've easily failed their classes because of that. (Happened to me) So think. Don't ruin your life. You get no second chance.

Now you have to admit you have this problem. After admitting, you should set goals. You don't have to quit to get over your addiction. Maybe play lesser a week. For example on setting a goal: I will play three times a week in # hours.

After setting up that goal. Try following it. It might be hard at first but you'll get the hang with it. Try using other hobbies to occupy yourself. Don't feel discouraged if you didn't do exactly what you had intended. If you stopped a bit you've made progress!

People's opinions: They might think "it is too hard to quit" or "I can't quit." Replace those negative terms with positive terms. The more people think negatively the more they really will fail. Don't forget to try. Making some-what improvement is still improvements too!
